Cruelty-free color challenge: Day 2- Navy!

I simply could not resist sporting my navy blue lipstick for day 2 of #crueltyfreecoloroftheday!  I’ve been obsessed since I saw Mulac’s Guy on the lovely Giuliana of Makeup Delight.

I scoured the interweb relentlessly for a cruelty-free version that I could actually get here in the States, and discovered Black is Blue from Ardency Inn’s Modster line.

Now, I’m not gonna lie to you, I would not wear this to work.  And, frankly, it’s not the most user-friendly of lipsticks.  I did a lot of clean up and edge work with both a tissue and some concealer… and I’m still quite sure this is less than a perfect job.  But, man, is it fabulous!  Oh, and, added bonus, your teeth will never have looked whiter.

When you’re going for the clearly VERY dramatic lip, I think it pays to keep everything else defined, but under the radar.  The eye look is quite neutral, using all matte shades from one of my fave It Cosmetics palettes.  A base of Snow Angel all over the lid, with a mix of Champagne and Toasty in the crease, then just a touch of Starry Night at the lash line .  Then, a pretty, nude blush.  I used my new Colour Pop one in Between the Sheets.  Don’t skimp on the blush now, unless you’re going for the Morticia Adams vibe.  Though, hey, if you are going for that vibe, I’m all for it!
