10 days of cruelty-free favorites: Day 2

Today’s fave takes us into the realm of a category of beauty products that I resisted for a VERY long time.  Blush.  I have a fair bit of hyperpigmentation in my cheeks and I couldn’t really get behind the notion of adding more color on top of that.  Plus, while I am all for a dramatic eye or lip, I am in perpetual fear of looking too ‘made-up’ when it comes to the rest of my face.

Now, having finally jumped on the blush bandwagon, I gravitate toward more subtle, neutral colors.  In particular, nothing too warm (i.e., orange-toned), which can look fabulous on many people but tend to look, as they say, ‘muddy’, on my redness-prone fair skin.

Fitting the bill to a T is the ELF studio blush in Mellow Mauve.   A subtle, cool-toned beauty that adds just the right flush of color for day and can be built up for a slightly more sculpted effect at night.  And, what’s more, it costs $3 at Target or online!

**All products were purchased by me from brands that, to the best of my knowledge, are cruelty-free.
