Thanks for sticking with me for part 2 of this series!
These are my picks for a slightly fuller coverage, with SPF, for summer. To stay consistent with my previous post, I’ve once again used 1 full pump (or it’s equivalent) for my whole face, and use hands to apply the product.
First up, the base that has been my indubitable favorite for months now. The Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint (in Shell). It gives a luminous, but quite natural, look to the skin. What’s more, I wore it to work all spring and was really impressed with the staying power. I’m currently being very miserly with it, trying to make it last until the next Sephora sale!

Next, another Hourglass product, the Illusion Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free, reported SPF of 15. I also wear the shade Shell in this product, and one of the many things I love about Hourglass is how consistent their shades are across different base products. I’d say this formula is a bit drier than the Skin Tint. I wore this on a VERY muggy walk with our Maggie the other day, and it hadn’t budged when we arrived back home an hour later.

Now for a head-to-head of two It Cosmetics products. The original Your Skin but Better (YSBB) CC+ and the new Your Skin but Better (YSBB) CC+ Illumination, both of which have a reported SPF of 50! I wear the shade, Fair, in both formulas. It’s a little light for me, especially with my bit of post shore tan, but the Light is both too dark and too warm for me.

I think both products provide great coverage and staying power. And, how can you beat an SPF of 50!? As far as repurchasing, I’m planning to stick with the newer, Illumination, formula. I think this formula is a little more forgiving of the fact that it’s a bit too pale for me, and, for some reason, I feel like I like the scent better.
Stay tuned for Part 3, featuring mattifying/acne control formulas, coming soon!
