Cruelty-free minihaul: Edward Bess Cosmetics on Hautelook!

Edward Bess is a brand about which I’ve been curious for a while, but the price tag on their products is a fair bit more spendy than I can justify these days.  So, I was pleased when I saw them featured on Hautelook a while back.  Buying untried cosmetics online can be a bit of a gamble, shade-wise, but a bit of Google investigating lead me to what turned out to be good choices for me.

Self same Google detective work suggests that two of the three products I bought are not currently available on the Edward Bess site.  But, I thought I’d show them anyway, in case any Hautelook aficionados might be interested in them if they come around again on that site.

My favorite of the products I purchased is the Ultra Slick Lipstick in Demi Buff.  I am very impressed by the creaminess and moisturization (Is that a word?) of this product.  It’s not marketed as a plumper, but it feels so hydrating, I thought it sort of acted as one.  I was also very pleased with the way it wore over the course of the day.  And, for me, this turns out to be a great my-lips-but-better shade.  I’m pleased to report that, from what I can tell, this product is still available on the Edward Bess website.

I also lucked out with my shade choice, Desert Bloom, of the Blush Imperiale.  As I’d hoped, it’s one of those mauvey, sculpty shades I lean toward for my non-contouring contoured look.  Once again, I was pleased with the staying power, no oxidation throughout the day.  I did think it needed a bit of building up to get a more blushy look.

Lastly, was the Quad Royale in South of France.  On one with anything other the fairest of skin tones, I think this would primarily act as a highlight, which is how I wore it, on the cheekbones above the Desert Bloom Blush.

I hope this has been helpful and happy Hautelooking!
