Cruelty free for you and me: Winter box!

My mom has always said I shouldn’t wish my life away, but I have to admit, since posting about the inaugural Cruelty Free for You and Me box this autumn, I’ve been waiting not very patiently for the winter box.  And now it’s here!

For all the scoop on the subscription, please check out that first post.  For now, let’s get straight to the goodies 🙂

First, as per usual, are Maggie’s treats.  Christmas definitely has come early for our girl; that lucky pup got 3 treats this time around, two bags of munchies and a toy!

Maggie was VERY happy to sniff out another batch of Max and Ruffy’s treats, this time in the Tree of Life flavor that combines coconut, molasses, and flax.  She was literally licking her lips in anticipation!  She’s also always up for some peanut butter, so it was great to try a bag of Etta Says! Peanut Butter Little Bitz, a brand that was new to us both.

I have to say though, the star of the show for our girl was the Haute Diggity Dog Chewy Vuitton Checker Bone.  SHE.  LOVED.  IT.  I say loved, because, sadly, the bone has already gone on to greener pastures, having been fully eviscerated by herself.  Squeaky stuffies rarely last long in our house, but this one put up a pretty good  (15 mins?) fight 😉

Now for the humans.

There were two color cosmetic lovelies in this edition of the box.  I scored another Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Lip Colour, this time in warm purple shade called, Sangria and another Red Apple Lipstick Gluten-Free Mineral Eye Shadow, in Violet Femme, which is pale periwinkle shade with a touch of sparkle.

The box was rounded off with two skin/hair care products, one for me and one for the hubs!  I was introduced to the Josh Rosebrook Hydrating Accelerator, which provides a nice refresher when spritzed on my (makeup-less) winter skin.  I also like to spray a bit on the back of my hands.  It has a fairly watery texture, but if you let it soak in a sec, it leaves your skin seriously soft.   It has a definite scent, possibly reminiscent of… Cabbage Patch Dolls?

Finally, Mr. Beautyforgood.net got to try the Flo and Theo Beard Elixir.  Who knew?!  He reports (and I concur) that it is scent-free, and that a few drops were plenty to moisturize his whole beard-growth region.  He doesn’t actually have a beard, so we can’t report on how it works on actual facial hair. Maggie wasn’t up to trying it out on her whiskers 😉  But, it is a sufficiently ‘dry’ oil that he felt comfortable using it as a post-shave moisturizer and I can attest to the baby softness of his skin with a definite lack of greasy residue.

Overall, another successful box chock full of fun items to try.  If pushed, I’d have to say regarding the repeat brand shades that I slightly preferred the formulas in the autumn box and, munchies-wise, I think the favorite so far for Maggie has been the  Complete Natural Nutrition Cheese Please treats.  That said, we LOVED getting a toy this time around, and something fun to try for the hubs!

Can’t wait to see what spring has in store… er, I mean, box 😉

**All products were purchased by me from brands that, to the best of my knowledge, are cruelty-free.
