Cruelty free for you and me: Spring box!

Cruelty Free 4 You and Me Spring 2016

I have to start by saying how impressed I am by the not 1, but 2, personalized touches in this quarter’s Cruelty Free for You and Me box.  Of course, I’m especially happy because both were treats for my Maggie, so let’s start off with what the box held for my girl.

A little while ago, I received an email, as I imagine all who subscribed to the box did, asking whether my girl would prefer the version of this quarter’s treats in the size for small dogs or for large dogs.  Perhaps our response goes without writing, but we responded with a resounding BIG treats, please!

As you can see, Maggie got right down to business enjoying her Wholesome Pride Pet Treats Sweet Potato Treats!

As if that weren’t enough, we also received a special little extra, in the form of Maggie’s favorite treats from the subscription so far, Cheese Please!

I can’t say Miss Maggie was quite as enthusiastic about the Green Gaia Essential All Natural Flea and Tick Powder as she was about the treats, but I’m certainly looking forward to giving it a try as a complement/substitute for the more chemically repellents.

Now, for my goodies!

First up are two treatment products.

The Wonderland Organics Soothing Serum quickly soaks in with a bit of rubbing to a nice dry oil feel, so it probably wouldn’t feel too gloopy on the face.  I say probably because, as one of the perhaps 3 people on the planet who cannot stand the scent of lavender, I didn’t actually put it on my face.  Just a personal preference, and as I’ve said, the chance you take with subscription boxes.

On the other hand, the Lauren Brooke Cosmetics Sweet Chai Lip Scrub has already become a nightstand staple for me.  It has a quite potent scent, to me, primarily of cloves, which I like.  Happily, not much in the way of flavor/taste.  The scrubbies are definitely large enough to do the job, and since that’s the predominant texture, I was pleasantly surprised by how moisturized my lips felt afterwards.

With my lips properly exfoliated, I could move on to the other lip product in the box, the Suntegrity Lip C.P.R. SPF 30.

If I had to come up with a one-word description for this lip product, the word would be LUSCIOUS.  It glides on like butter, well actually, more smoothly than butter.  Feels supremely moisturizing and looks lovely on the lips.  Kindof almost a plumping effect, without any of that stingy tingling.  I think the shade they’ve chosen, Plum Eclipse, is a perfect MLBB that will complement any skin tone.

As I’ve noted for previous boxes, it’s my impression that the other color cosmetic in the box was thoughtfully paired to complement the lip color.  It’s the Red Apple Lipstick Mineral Eye Shadow in Siren.

Being honest, it’s not a color, described as a combo of “teal and seafoam green”, I’d be comfortable sporting all over lid.  However, I did end up quite liking it as a splash, get it, seafoam… splash ;), of color on the lower lash line when paired with the deep dark gold of ColourPop’s Thirsty Girl.

And so completes another fabulous Cruelty Free For You and Me Box.  Happy Spring!

*These are only my (and Maggie’s) opinions, formed through my our personal experience as a consumer(s).  I am not a medical doctor, an aesthetician, or a health/beauty professional.  There is no guarantee what effect, positive or negative, these products may have on anyone else.

**All products were purchased by me from brands that, to the best of my knowledge, are cruelty-free.

  1. Maggie looks so happy with her treat. Good to see her furry face. And the teal/seafoam looks great on you! I am partial to a bright green hint on the eyelids. Nice touch. Keep the posts coming!
