I’m sure it comes as no surprise to any of you that a few weeks ago Sephora held their annual 20% off sale for VIB members. I tried not to go crazy, but did figure this was another good opportunity to:
- Stock up on holy grail-type products
- Try something new (and somewhat spendy)
So, I did just those things!
First up, I recently tried the Murad Anti-Aging Acne Starter Kit (from Ulta) and two of the products have been really stand out for me, so I thought I’d go ahead and get the full sizes on sale!
You may recall this beauty being featured some time ago during my 10 days of cruelty-free faves series, my Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint. A truly holy grail product that I was almost out of!
Next up, a lip product about which I’ve been reading raves. Nudestix. As I’m ever on the search for the perfect nude lip, I have been dying to try the combo stick that has the mauvey Mystic and the paler pink Whisper.
It has a classic pencil design and comes in a handy little mirrored tin. It also comes with a sharpening cap with which you can replace one of the regular caps for travel readiness.
As you may have noticed, it’s marketed as both a lip and cheek product, so here’s a photo of the colors sheered out in case you’re interested.
And finally, my first foray into the world of Kat von D eye shadow palettes. I’m a huge fan of her Tattoo liner in Trooper, and when I swatched the shadows in Sephora they were, in a word, buttery. I know the Shade & Light palette is all the rave, but I decided to go with Innerstellar.
This palette is filled with one-shadow wonders, and it’s also possible to do multiple multi-shadow looks. I used the 3rd quad to create what I thought was a lovely, wearable, look. I covered the whole lid with Lycan (matte cream above) to neutralize any lid discoloration, then used 3 a.m. (metallic taupe) on the outer half and Moonshine (metallic silver) on the inner half of the lid. All this topped off with a wedge of Killing Moon (matte black) at the lash line.
Well, that sums it up for this minihaul. I definitely tried to restrain myself 😉 What goodies did you pick up?
