Cruelty-free Faves: Spring/Summer 2016!

It’s been a busy few months.  Between getting and starting a new job, teaching and moving to a new state this summer, and just generally revamping most of life, the last thing I had time to do on MANY days was think hard about my makeup looks.  So, when I think of faves for spring/summer 2016, they’re tried and true products I go back to again and again because I know I can count on them to apply easily and look awesome.

Not surprisingly, you’ve read me “talk” about all of these products before, and some of them were even in last summer’s faves

Let’s start with the eyes:

On many a work day, I reached for my The Balm’s Meet Matt(e) Nude Palette.  Put a wash of Matt Malloy all over the lid, Matt Singh as a transition shade, and Matt Garcia in the outer third of the lid/crease. Even though the look involves 3 shades, they’re so user-friendly, pretty, and blendable, the look is done in mere moments.

My mascara has consistently been my beloved Pur Cosmetics Big Look Lashes.  Love. It.

As I’ve mentioned in the past, I tend to alternate among different under-eye correctors, but the ONLY setting powder I’ve ever found that doesn’t lead to a cakey, crepey disaster is the Honeybee Gardens Pressed Mineral Powder Foundation (I use the shade Avignon).

For base, I’ve been consistently using a combo of my Vapour Beauty Atmosphere Soft Focus Foundation in Shade 110, topped with the lightest of light dustings of Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light.  And, it perhaps goes without writing, but I’ll write it anyway, my must have, holy grail concealer, Pur Cosmetics Disappearing Act 4-In-1 Concealer in Light.  If this stuff ever gets discontinued, I’m gonna be in trouble.

For blush in a rush ;), there’s nothing like a good neutral!  My two go-tos in this category are an oldie and a newbie… does anyone else remember that Girl Scout song, “Make new friends, but keep the old.   One is silver and the other’s gold?”.  No?  Ok, maybe it’s just me.  Anyway, I digress.

First up, is an old fave, my Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Aphrodisiac.  I love it for it’s sculpty, neutral goodness.

The other blush I’ve been reaching for consistently is the newbie, my 100% Pure Fruit Pigmented Blush in Pretty Naked.

Last not but not least, lips.  This is definitely the category with the most variety, but it wasn’t too difficult to i.d. the lippies I’ve been loving the past few months.

There is pretty much nothing I don’t love (except maybe the price) about the Suntegrity Lip C.P.R. SPF 30 in Plum Eclipse.  It’s available on Safe & Chic, so, I’m always on the lookout for one of their sales.

For a more dramatic, night-timey look, I’ve really been liking the darker end of my E.L.F. Day to Night Lip Duo in Red Hot Reds.  And yes, I wear it during the day.  Often.

Last but not least, the one that never leaves my purse, my Pixi Beauty Shea Butter Lip Balm in Natural Rose.Pixi Beauty Shea Butter Lip Balm in Natural Rose

Happy end of summer to all!  Yes, that’s right, happy END of summer, I cannot wait for fall!
